Algo Media

Truly independent Hispanic and Latino stories, streaming on demand. #ALGOQueVer

What it is

Algo Media logo

Algo Media is a Spanish-language streaming service for Hispanic and Latino audiences in the United States, launched in 2020 and co-founded by Nowadays Orange. It exists for the truly independent content the larger platforms overlook — from the films of Mexico’s Cine de Oro to contemporary documentaries, comedy and series made across the Americas, from the United States to Chile and Argentina.

Alongside the catalog, the platform sets out to give a home and a voice to Hispanic and Latino creators who have spent decades struggling to distribute genuinely independent work.

What’s on it

26 films and series, plus 35 episodes of series and original programming.

Classics of Latin American cinema — Sentinels of Silence, El Grito, The Cucaracha, Eagle or Sun, Canaima, The Black Corsair, The Life of Carlos Gardel, Pachito Rex and Platero and Me.

Nowadays Orange titles — the Emmy-winning docuseries Our Americas, The Realty, and The Path of Lord Jaguar.

Series and originals — In the Kitchen with Chef Dora (15 episodes), Algo About Immigration (8 episodes), and Algo About Yoga & Home.

Watch trailers, clips and previews on the Algo Media channel on YouTube.

What makes it different

Award-winning — a catalog that has won multiple festivals and awards.

Truly independent — work from creators outside the global mainstream and its studio pipelines.

Trans-national — stories that cross borders and languages, with themes that matter across all of our Americas.

Multi-format — fiction and non-fiction as films, series and audiobooks.
